Rudy Duran was Tiger Woods very first golf instructor and became the unknown, yet one of the games more influential teachers. Yes! Tiger and Earl did make their way up to Chalk Mountain Golf Course to receive instruction from Rudy. More than a quarter-century member of the PGA, Rudy Duran is an instructor, golf course designer & architect, and a tireless advocate of Junior Golf. He has run some of the largest youth programs in the country. He has also won numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the PGA Tours Card Walker Award and the California Golf Writer's Golden State Award. While becoming the very first PGA Golf Professional at Chalk Mountain Golf Course, Rudy was also involved in the First Tee program and was a founding board member of the First Tee Chapter in Central California.

"Rudy was always there for me. I can't reiterate enough how much it meant to have someone there to teach me the basics and guide me along the way."
-Tiger Woods at the 2000 PGA Tour Awards

"No one knew Tiger Woods’ talent better than his first coach Rudy Duran."
